NM&SC is pleased to announce that it will be co-hosting, with the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA), the next Congressional M&S Leadership Summit, scheduled to be conducted 25 February 2019 in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Planning details and the agenda, as they are developed, with be posted to NTSA and NM&SC websites, and information will be available in periodic NTSA newsletters. We look forward to seeing you there.
NM&SC 2018 National Meeting
The University of Nebraska Medical Center, through the Interprofessional Experiential Center for Enduring Learning (iEXCEL), hosted, with co-host National Strategic Research Institute, the 2018 NM&SC National Meeting September 25 and 26, in Omaha, NE. Poised to transform healthcare education, UNMC and iEXCEL showcased its work to propel the training of Health Care professionals into the next generation through the adoption of emerging virtual and augmented reality, as well as advanced clinical simulation and surgical skills training.
During the meeting, attendees were able to tour a number of exciting and innovative areas at UNMC including the iEXCEL Visualization Hub, the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit, the Center for Advanced Surgical Technology, and the Mind and Brain Health Labs. Included in the event’s presentations was a description, and short video of the Davis Global Center, a new ‘state-of the-art” 6-story, 192,000 sq. ft. facility under construction on the University of Nebraska Omaha Campus. Scheduled to open in Fall of 2019, it will be the new headquarters for iEXCEL, housing clinical & surgical simulation and visualization space, experiential learning spaces, and a biocontainment laboratory serving both research and training needs.
NM&SC 2017 National Meeting
The 2017 NM&SC National Meeting was held in Dearborn, MI, September 25-26, 2017. The theme for the meeting was MS&V: Revolutionizing analytics, manufacturing, healthcare and product design – and the need to train the workforce to support it. Agenda highlights include speakers discussing Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, and use of MS&V in Product Design and Promotion.
